words beckon and I curl up like a ball in routine
rolling from one task to another
The world is round, they say, so is my day...
it keeps running back into the same things
again and again
who will cook dinner?
who will fold the clothes?
the story stands aside, mute
I have no time to lend a hand and mould her into shape...
the husband yells for tea
the son has lost his socks
the daughter needs a ribbon
my feet find their rhythm within the merry-go-round of life
and when sleep slips sweetly in,
I think of you...
still waiting
mutely
for another moment
another chance...
another day

Dear Suneeta
You may add Chimamanda Ngozi Adici's 'Hibiscus Flowers' and 'Half of a yellow Sun' to your reading list. Add Mohsin Hamid's 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist' and for some superb reading, it's Jose Saramago all the way. Mindblowing stuff.
Travelling is great. I might be joining some writer friends in Paris at the end of the year. I will also be meeting my French translator for time after all these years. So fingers crossed everything Is going to go according to my plan.
Have you read Ismail Kadare's 'The English Patient', the Booker Winner? It's different.
Oops! I did a goof up! I had these two books in front of me and was wondering as to which one to read first.
It is Michael Ondatjie who wrote the Booker Winner 'The English Patient' and Ismail Kadare's work is titled 'Agamemnon's Daughter'.
I have already started on Ondatjie.
Where can I purchase Bapsi Sidhwa's books?
